What's included
GCSE Chemistry Tutor: Mustafa Hoca
BSc Chemistry — ODTÜ (METU) · 26 Years Experience
- 26 years of chemistry teaching across international exam systems — GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level, IB and more
- Expert in AQA, Edexcel and OCR GCSE Chemistry syllabuses — Higher and Foundation tier
- Lessons fully in English to match exam conditions — Turkish support available when needed
- Specialist in six-mark question technique, required practicals and mole calculation methods
- Trusted by Turkish families in the UK and students worldwide
A tutor your child can trust — in both languages.
Finding a reliable chemistry tutor in the UK is hard enough. Finding one who understands the pressure Turkish families place on academic success — and can explain a concept in Turkish when a student is stuck — is even harder.
Lessons are conducted entirely in English to match exam conditions. But when a concept isn't clicking, Turkish is available. No detail gets lost, no student falls behind because of a language barrier.
Dersler tamamen İngilizce işlenir — sınav koşullarına uyum için. Ancak bir konu tam oturmadığında Türkçe açıklama yapılır. Hiçbir öğrenci dil engeli yüzünden geride kalmaz.
METU-graduate tutor
Deep chemistry knowledge from one of Turkey's most respected universities — now applied to the UK curriculum.
Progress reports for parents
A written update after every session — so parents know exactly what was covered and what improved.
Flexible UK-friendly timing
Sessions scheduled around school hours, after-school activities, and UK exam dates.
AQA, Edexcel or OCR — we know every mark scheme.
AQA GCSE Chemistry
The most widely taken GCSE Chemistry board in the UK. Every lesson aligned to AQA's required practicals, calculation style, and six-mark question structure.
Edexcel GCSE Chemistry
Pearson Edexcel has a specific approach to extended writing and calculation questions. We focus on exactly what the mark scheme rewards.
OCR GCSE Chemistry
OCR Gateway and OCR 21st Century — both covered. Practical skills and the specific OCR question styles built into every session.
Every GCSE Chemistry topic. Fully covered.

Why GCSE Chemistry students underperform
Six-mark questions answered poorly
Students know the content but don't know how to structure a six-mark answer. One missing link-word and two marks disappear.
Mole calculations unravelling
Moles, concentration, % yield — these calculation chains look simple but break down under pressure without a reliable method.
Required practicals not revised
Every board tests required practicals directly. Students who don't practise these lose easy marks in Paper 2.
We fix all three — from the very first session.

Your child is targeting grade 8 or 9
They're doing well but the top grades feel just out of reach. Targeted sessions close that gap systematically.
Your family is Turkish and based in the UK
A tutor who understands both the UK curriculum and your family's expectations — and can explain in Turkish when needed.
Specific topics are dragging the grade down
One or two weak areas pulling everything back — moles, electrolysis, organic chemistry. We fix them directly.
A-Level Chemistry is the next step
Strong GCSE foundations make A-Level Chemistry dramatically easier. Better to build them now than patch them later.
Common questions
Which GCSE Chemistry boards do you cover?
AQA, Edexcel, and OCR (both Gateway and 21st Century). Each board has different required practicals, mark scheme language, and paper structures — every lesson is built around your child's specific board.
Do you cover both Higher and Foundation tier?
Both tiers are fully supported. For Foundation students, the focus is on securing strong marks across all accessible questions. For Higher students, we target grades 7, 8 and 9 with harder calculation and extended writing practice.
Are lessons in English or Turkish?
All lessons are conducted in English — this is essential for exam preparation. However, Turkish explanations are always available when a concept needs extra clarity. No student falls behind because of a language barrier.
Can parents receive updates on progress?
Yes — a written progress report is provided after every session. It covers what was worked on, what improved, and what to focus on next. Many of our UK-based parents find this particularly useful.
My child is doing well at GCSE — should they consider A-Level Chemistry?
If they're targeting grades 8–9 and interested in Medicine, Engineering, or Sciences, A-Level Chemistry is a strong next step. Strong GCSE foundations make the transition significantly easier. You can read more about what changes at A-Level here.
